Pendleton Competes as Team Indiana wins 2023 Central Zone Swimming Championship

Thirteen year old Josh Pendleton spent this past weekend in Elkhart, Indiana along with over 160 of the state’s best swimmers competing for Team Indiana in the 2023 Central Zone Championship. The Central Zone Championship contests State Teams of qualified swimmers ages 14 and Under from Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin and Northern Pennsylvania in four days of Long Course swimming events. Team Indiana, which included Pendleton, easily won the competition again this year by scoring 5,429 points against 2nd place Ohio with 4185.5, Wisconsin with 4038.5, Michigan with 3572 and Lake Earie Zone team with 2,212.


Pendleton competed three days of the weekend, scoring seven points for Team Indiana by finishing 12th in the 13-14 year old 1500 Meter Free, 15th in the 800 Meter Free, and 31st in the 400 Meter Free. During 2023, Pendleton, who trains with and competes for Club Olympia  Swimming, swam on behalf of Team Indiana in the 2023 Mid States All Star Championship and the 2023 Central Zone Open Water Championship in addition to this past weekend’s Central Zone Championship.
